2nd Indicator Workshop with SURE Stakeholder Forum

The 2nd SWEET-SURE Indicator Workshop was conducted successfully on November 5th, 2024, at ZHAW in Zürich. It was a significant milestone event, actively engaging over 20 Swiss stakeholders in a participatory evaluation of the four SWEET SURE long-term energy pathways for Switzerland.

Key Highlights:

  • Indicator Insights: Participants were introduced to 20 resilience and sustainability indicators that serve as key criteria for evaluating the pathways. Discussions centered on understanding the pathways and assessing potential future shock scenarios that could threaten them.
  • MCDA Framework: A key focus of the workshop was the development of a customized Multicriteria Decision Aid (MCDA) model. Stakeholders expressed their priorities by voting on the importance of the sustainability and resilience indicators. These votes were aggregated to collectively assign weights to the 20 evaluation criteria.
  • Interactive Engagement: Breakout sessions facilitated dialogue among participants, enabling them to share their perspectives within four different groups and collaboratively provide feedback on the magnitude of various shock scenarios.

Next Steps:

  • Acquisition of results from the model for the pathways and shock scenarios.
  • Application of the MCDA model to evaluate the pathways based on stakeholder preferences.
  • Breakdown of the most preferred pathway into actionable energy policy measures toward 2050.
