Save the date: The fifth SWEET conference will take place on 1 September 2026.

In the morning, researchers and partners from practical fields from four SWEET consortia will provide insights into current research: three consortia nearing completion will present their findings, whilst the newest consortium will introduce itself. A keynote speech by futurologist Karin Frick will be followed by a discussion on the topic of “Soziale Innovation als Schlüsselelement auf dem Weg zu Netto-Null (Social innovation as a key element on the path to net zero)”. The afternoon will focus on the SWEET synthesis: this brings together the findings and derives recommendations, which will be discussed jointly in two sessions.

The conference offers a platform for exchange between research and implementation. It is therefore aimed at stakeholders from the private sector, professional associations, federal government, cantons, municipalities, cities and researcher.

As part of the programme, the SURE consortium will present the session “Die Schweizer Energiewende auf dem Prüfstand: Robustheit und Resilienz in unsicheren Zeiten” (The Swiss energy transition under scrutiny: robustness and resilience in uncertain times). The session will showcase the key findings and contributions of the SURE project to date. It will be presented by Evangelos Panos and Peter Burgherr (Paul Scherrer Institute, PSI), together with Nadine Brauchli and Martin Rüdisüli (Association of Swiss Electricity Companies, VSE).
